Lumbo pelvic hip disassociation is tough for many, yet essential for a healthy back and hips! Joints, as the interface of movement, quite often hold the key to proper function. Translated, you cant waste time improving the motion-strength of joint regions! The following video is a great way to localize tension through the tough connective tissue using a VERY strong band and muscle contraction. Once positioned, contract with a gradient intensity to flex/extend your spine, progress to frontal and transverse planes as shown. This is NOT a passive mobilization, instead an active mobility exercise with a high level of tension placed at the hip joint which in turn tractions the region. This particular mo-stability exercise will help with the deep squat position, assist to alleviate excessive stress in low back caused by lack of disassociation within LPHC. Try it, use a very strong band, your strength, and experiment with varying angles, ranges, durations. Enjoy!
