Lumka Oliphant, the SASSA spokesperson has bodyguards, paid millions for by the taxpayer. Look, forget about whether the bodyguards are from a reputable Security Company or a ramshackle outfit got together on CEO Virginia Petersens front lawn. The question is, what does a glorified clerk need bodyguards for? Because a clerk with a fancy name is what she is. From where Im sitting, not even a parastatal CEO, like a Departmental Director General, needs a bodyguard. How many other clerks are we paying security for? And what is going to happen when all other clerks demand to be treated equally? Is our public service going to experience an indenifite strike because our clerks want bodyguards? This because it will be a legitimate demand. And we hear people saying government has done a lot, but more still needs to be done. Yes, they have done a lot of damage. And I dont think we need any more of that. ENOUGH ALREADY!!
