***Luna is a lifesaver! Now, save hers!!!*** A volunteer writes: Luna saved the day and a life yesterday. As Luna and I were strolling in the park and exiting toward the care center, a little dog came running to us. He took a good look at Luna and started to play with her. I was concerned of course…He jumped over her back and tried to entice her to play. Luna looked puzzled but surprisingly joined in the game, even licking Theos (the name I gave him) tush..I had another leash, leashed the little guy and off we went back to safety, the three of us walking down the street like three good friends. It says a lot about Luna… She saved a life and she is good with dogs, even the tiny version of them. Luna, a thin middle age female, dressed in a well groomed mocha and chocolate coat is with us as her former owners were moving to a place not allowing pets. She comes with excellent recommendations although she has been rather aloof with us at the care center. I think that Luna is true to love and friendship and faithfulness. She is after the real thing, being a beloved pet in a home and with steady masters. She is not really letting us in while at the shelter environment. There are dogs like that and we, humans, can just behave the same way..Luna seems to have been well cared for. She is well mannered, is house trained, sits on command and pulls a little on the leash. She is not a happy camper but the incident in the park showed me that there is another Luna behind the facade she puts for us… Luna is with us at the Manhattan Care Center. Would you be willing to give Luna a chance, the chance to show the world that she is a wonderful girl.
