The 2014/2015 Uganda Premier League will not kick-off on September 2 after the High Court issued an injunction following a complaint by Maroons FC. “We are happy that Court issued an injunction on Friday and this matter must be heard as to why we are not part of the League yet we were never relegated,” Maroons FC Chairman Tommy Ochen told AfricanFootball. Maroons FC’s lawyer John Isabirye obtained an injunction on Friday from the High Court in the absence of the FA officials. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has upheld Rwanda’s disqualification from the 2015 AFCON qualifiers which confirms Nigeria will host Congo Brazzaville on September 6. After Rwanda filed an appeal over the August 17th disqualification, CAF on Saturday maintained that the disqualification will stand. On August 17th CAF disqualified Rwanda after Congo Brazzaville lodged a protest over the eligibility of Amavubi striker Birori Dady, who plays for DR Congo side AS Vita Club under a different passport, as Etekiama Agiti Tady, and a different age. Rwanda FA officials Vincent Nzamwita (President), Olivier Mulindahabi (secretary general) and the Legal affairs head Emmanuel Ndagijimana faced the CAF Appeals Committee on August 27 in Cairo. But Mulindahabi has said they are now likely to take the matter to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). ………….. Sierra Leone is to host their 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Democratic Republic of Congo in the Congolese city of Lubumbashi on 10th September. The match, which was originally scheduled to take place in Freetown, was ordered to be played at a neutral venue by the Confederation of African Football (Caf) because of the Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone. The country had already suspended all football activities before Caf ordered the match to be relocated. Fifa have rejected the election of Chris Giwa as the new president of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) and warned that Nigeria could be banned by Tuesday if he does not vacate the post by midnight on Monday. Watford head coach Beppe Sannino has resigned with the club in second place in the Championship standings. The 57-year-old Italian, who only took up the role in December, says he has gone as far as I can in the role.
