Lungile Xauka better known by his stage name INFLATEDDJ was born and bred in Soweto in the year 1991. His love for music started with house music when as a freshman in high school in 2005; he saw dj’s playing at 1 of the school’s annual excursions. He was very inquisitive and curious and how they managed to do the mixing on what back than was called Vinyl’s (LP). He continued to bother a few dj’s with numerous questions, it was legendary Dj Medicine who took his time to explain to the young boy the A to Z about Djing. He also gave him the first DJ book where everything was explained in detail (What is djing, How should a Dj mix etc) He has never looked back ever since. Early 2006 he was in too deep; learning how to dj almost every weekend under the watchful eye of Dj Medicine and also the continuous endorsement of records by this legendary dj. His first official gig will come at the beginning of 2007 at a house party. The legend of the INFLATEDDJ started toi spread and he got bookings for weddings, school shows and a few Sunday Sessions. All of the above led to him being appointed the resident dj at Club Academy in Diepkloof Soweto where he shared the decks with a couple Soweto giants at just a tender age of 16. 2008 saw him continue to rise as a junior dj and slowly becoming a household name with promoters who used him as their opening DJ. *Seen here with Charles Webster (international house dj and producer) In 2009 he was invited to play an hour set on the Vaal University radio station. He would go on to impress everyone that the listeners made a request that he plays every weekend; so he was given the slot for the whole year while he was also busy doing his electrical engineering subjects at the university. He continued to join the university’s dj society and was 1 of the first upcoming Dj’s to be chosen to play alongside the likes of Black Coffee, Shimza and Dj Christos at the VUT Festival 2009. Now he was unstoppable as he started headlining gigs around Vaal and in Soweto. In 2010 he started getting bookings from outside the province in places like Mpumalanga, Limpopo, and the Free state. This is where he caught the eyes of the 2010 Fifa World Cup Fan Park organizers and he was invited to be a resident at one of the biggest fan parks in the country at the Mary Fitzgerald Square throughout the duration of the World Cup and got to share the stage with various award winning artists from South Africa and around the world. His sets were so impressive that they caught the attention of the legendary Vaal Beach Party organizer (Isaac Masia, the Vaal Beach party attracts over 30 000 people each year). Isaac invited him to play at a few University events (University of Johannesburg, Vaal University and Medunsa). The legend of this flawless dj whose track selection was nothing short of being the best in the country continued to rise. In 2011: He played at the VUT Gumba which had more than 6000 attendees featuring dj Christos and The Soil. He considers this as one of the best sets he has ever played (he had students asking to take pictures with him and asking for for autographs) The same year he was called back to VUT Fm to play on Friday morning 11h00-12h00 and he was later promoted to do the Friday evening slot 7h00-7h30 On the 3rd June 2011 he featured at a massive winter bash at chaf pozi in Soweto which featured Dj Veany and mixer Nathi; alongside Africa’s Best Dance crew (Soweto’s Finest) He proceeded to get resident dj offers at Vaal club illusions, Captain corner, Club Osibisa, Mzansi bar, Ta Bozzy and Cappellos (Newtown Johannesburg) He also entered the Redsquare 2011 dj knockout and was knocked out in the vaal finals after he survived the top 30, 20, and 12. Later on the year he was called to share the stage with international dj and producer NICK HOLDER from Canada and Da-capo (South African rising producer) after being seen rocking the decks at Club Illusions. On the 27th November he was called by Blackwhole Entertainment to share the stage with Abicah soul who is one of the biggest names in house internationally. It was the 3rd quarter of 2011 where he came across well recognized events promoter (Sandile Sai Shange) who controls most of the north (Rosebank, Sandton, Pretoria) and also Soweto. This guy began to feature him at every event that he hosted. He got the opportunity to be exposed to the other side of Johannesburg and share the stage with the likes of Khulichana, Teargas, MacG, Bobstar, Shimza, AKA, Dj Kent and more. He now became a familiar face in the club scene up north becoming a resident through Sandile at venues like (Mibar and Liquidchefs in Rosebank), Bar 9 Midrand and more. Later that year he featured at the MSP Vaal Wors and Beer festival and he also featured at the Medunsa Freshers 2012 and various gigs at the popular Taliban Pub in Ga-rankuwa. Zhe would also go to feature at the MGI and Damelin Freshers Parties. INFLATEDDJ is an all round dj that can switch from any type of house music to accommodate the audience and keep them dancing. He is a very reliable and punctual individual who believes in perfection.
