Lying in bed, awakened by God, thinking about the sacrifices made by a mother, nine months of pain, often followed by a lifetime of tears.... My mom prayed for me like no one else, shes the reason I can preach the Gospel today, her prayers set up as a memorial before God, and Jesus, recognized those prayers and that memorial as his own earthly mother, Mary, prayed like no one else, for Her child as He suffered on the cross... And then I think of the many wonderful women of the Bible, Rahab, Ruth, Elizabeth, Sarah, Hagar, Mary, Priscilla, Puah, Abigail, Martha, and Maccah, the mother of Gilead... Far too many to mention here, but mighty women who fulfilled a mighty role, women and mothers who made a difference... When I was lost, and had no where to turn, Sis. Howard came into my life and showed me that there was a God who loves me, for two years she helped guide me, but that devil, hes so nifty, he convinced me that just one drink wouldnt hurt, and so I spiraled out of control, crashed and burned... But then, another mother saw me limp into the hospital called Promiseland Church, she grabbed me by the hand, asked me my name, and took me to me the pastor of the church, she said to him, dad, this is Fred, this is the one I was telling you about, Karen Phillips, she gave birth to Spencer, but she saved my life that day, and I am eternally grateful... There is nothing like a mom, Sis. Wanda Phillips and Sis. Peggy Burghardt prayed for me day and night while I fought for my life, five months I spent in that hospital, and without these mamas in my life, I wouldve never made it... Now, back to my own natural birth mother, if you know her, then you know shes a praying women, she declared to the devil that no son of hers would serve him nor his pit of lies, and she told God to save me or send me home, she went so far as to take out a life insurance policy on me so she could bury me when the time came... But those prayers had stacked up higher and higher before God, and He said to my mom, MS. Edna, your prayers have become as a memorial before God and Heaven, and so, Ill not only save your son, but Ill make him one of my ministers on the earth. Parents, mothers, God wants me to let you know that He is listening, and He is there, just keep praying, and keep believing, He will move on your behalf... Now, I just want you to know this, God is alive and well, He is still in the miracle making business, dont ever give up on the ones you love, God will never fail you or forsake you, just keep the faith...
