Lying in bed this Memorial Day Weekend, wishing to all a safe - TopicsExpress

Lying in bed this Memorial Day Weekend, wishing to all a safe holiday and thanks to our vets. I was hoping for something more profound but my mind is muddled. I learned of an old friend (Anna Steele to my old AMG crew) is gone. She was a single mom who seemed to have it together and had a smile that can brighten you day. We drifted apart in life, as so many relationships do. You hope they can drift back in, but it hurts to know she will not be one of them in this life. I hear of things leading about her inner demons and reflect on my own. I cant help but ask why she chose to internalize when she had so much support. Perhaps, I will never know and my world is a little sadder because of it. In addition to my well wishes, I include a prayer for her family, her little girl she left behind, and those that mourn her loss. Tragedy is not just wide scale events that can be seen coming a mile away, or make breaking news. It can pop up and appear as a whimper in the grand scale but affect your world nonetheless. Everyone of us is fighting for our lives each day, in our unique way, but it should never be kept quiet if help is available. If you have a good friend and think they are screaming inside, ask them how they are and offer the hand-up they need. No one should feel 100% alone. I cannot help but feel I wish I could have done more despite the fact we drifted away and the likelihood that contact would have been a turning point is so small. To my friend, I pray you have the solace that you need. The rest of us here will miss you and have a slightly newer, personal definition of Memorial Day now that you are gone.
