Lynas has announced a minimum capital raising of $30 million (underwritten by Patersons Securities) and has appointed Nomura Australia to arrange the purchase and amendment of the US$215 million Sojitz/JOGMEC senior secured loan. The capital raising is offered equally to all eligible shareholders (at 2 May) and will secure Lynas’ short term working capital requirement. The debt proposal will remove debt repayment obligations until mid-2016 and provide Lynas with time to further strengthen its financial profile through the build-up of cash flow from production and sales.
