Lynch on Leadership: Kingdom leads heaven: the order of heaven is kingly. Kingdom represents God on earth. While Scripture contains many metaphors to help us understand spiritual things, kingdom is not a metaphor. Kingdom is real. What is real in heaven, God wishes people to represent on earth. Jesus begins His treatment of prayer with this concept. Recognizing the there is no other holiness of Father though worship, Jesus immediately steps His disciples into their positioning as representatives of heaven on earth. He uses a declarative tone: Kingdom of heaven, arrive! Will of God, happen! He intends that His disciples declare this in prayer because through prayer they represent Him in earth, to accomplish heavenly reality on earth through spiritual power and authority. This is no metaphor. This cant be fulfilled in good church services. This isnt limited to believers having a good day and some fun occasionally. This is about God ruling the world! And, this is about people representing heaven in the earth. Prayer contains a paradox: God knows what we need before we ask, so why ask? The answer puts kingdom to your consciousness: the reality of how things are around God in heaven releases into the reality of thing around you through the arrival of kingdom and the implementation of the Kings desires. In order to pray as Gods representatives, we need to become people whose lives represent Him. Since we could never accomplish this on our own, Jesus came and did everything needed to lift us to this position. Yet, the concept isnt metaphor. It is reality! We are seated with Him in the heavenliness because we connect heaven and earth as His representatives. So, how well does your thinking represent Gods? How well does your heart beat like Gods? How effectively does your life represent Gods life? How does your behavior represent Gods? The passionate prayer of a righteous person should standardize our declarations. Knowing God opens my life to knowing Gods priorities and intentions. Declaring these priorities and intentions in the arena of my kingdom assignment, I exercise the authority and power that my representation of heaven affords me to accomplish the purposes of the King.
