Lyndon Johnson received a commission in the Naval Reserve while serving in Congress, and was consequently on a tour of the South Pacific. He was about to head out on the Wabash Cannonball, a B-26 bomber, when nature called. He made a trip to the restroom, then came back and hopped on a different plane called the Heckling Hare which, if nothing else, had a way cooler name. During the mission, the Heckling Hare returned to base while the Wabash Cannonball crashed, resulting in the death of everyone onboard.
