Examples of my recent files include a report on the Community of Democracies 7th Ministerial Meeting in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia (this contains an exclusive interview with the Mongolian Foreign Minister who urges Vietnam to follow Mongolia’s path from communism to democracy) (28 April 2013); the adoption of an Urgent Resolution on Vietnam in the European Parliament with interviews of MEPs such as Internet specialist Marietje Schaake, Maria Gomes and Berndt Posselt (18 May 2013); an account of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva (12 March); an interview with Buddhist Youth Movement leader Le Cong Cau in Vietnam following his interrogations with Police (20 March); an interview with lawyer Gerald Stoberock, Director of the World Movement against Torture in Geneva denouncing the flawed legal process of blogger Dieu Cay etc. Earlier interviews include political figures such as former Czech President Vaclav Havel, former Deputy Premier of Taiwan Annette Lu, United Nations High Commissioner on Human Rights Navi Pillay etc. In the report cited above, I gave extracts of speeches by Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren, Congressman Mike Honda and other elected officials at an event in San Jose rfa.org/vietnamese/in_depth/us-repres-officials-respond-vener-t-q-do-yl-05172013171046.html where they responded to an audio message from Thich Quang Do. Congresswoman Lofgren even recalled that she had nominated Thich Quang Do for the 2013 Nobel Peace Prize. This was objective reporting with sound-bites of the speeches in English for all to hear. To call this propaganda is a deliberate distortion of the truth.
