M.O.M.s Club February 19, 2014 Minutes I. Kay Routh opened the meeting with introductions of the new Lead Moms. II. Reviewed the agenda, and introduced committee sign ups. III. Spring meeting dates - *March 26th @ Ranch LGI *April 16 @ ranch LGI *May - No Meeting *July - Meeting place TBD (Summer meeting will be off campus beginning in July and will be announced at a later date.) IV. *Upcoming Dates -*Spring practice begins 5/5 *Spring game 5/30 *Sac Camp begins 6/16 end 7/24 (Schedule vacations around SAC) *Freshman football camp week of 8/4 *JV & V practice begins 8/11 V. Expense Donations - Beginning next month there will be a bucket at each meeting. These donations will help cover expenses incurred by the M.O.M.s club at upcoming events (i.e. - homecoming float, end of year banquet). You may donate any amount any time. The majority of the expenses is incurred at the end of year banquet. All football players and their families are invited to attend this event. VI. Committee Sign Ups - Kristen reviewed the committee sign ups and explained we have added a committee for Photography and deleted Homecoming dinner. Listed below are all the committees. If you are interested please let us know or sign up at the next meeting in March. VII. Game Programs - Coach Johnson has asked that the Moms club be the lead for the football game programs. We are discussing and investigating if this could take place. The Booster club has done it in the past. Booster club will continue to have a part in the program. MOMs club role would be to provide layout, pictures, recap of last game and such. This would only have to take place for home games. VIII. General discussion - Getting student body involved. Investigating how to partner with different groups such as Classics, cheerleaders. Over all how to build enthusiasm with our Student body. IX. Break outs - Meet the Mustangs and Senior Moms met. COMMITTEE LIST MUSTANG CORRAL: Traditionally held a couple of days before school. This day is assigned for joining Mom’s Club, signing up for the Booster Club, etc. MEET THE MUSTANGS: Traditionally held on the Saturday before the 1st day of school. This event is where families have an opportunity to meet and take pictures of the all the football teams. PINK OUT GAME: Fundraising events for events for breast cancer awareness including the Pink Out game in October. COACH TO CURE GAME: Fundraising for CTC & Game intro (Homecoming Game) END OF SEASON BANQUET: All Teams; Potluck dinner @ End of Season COMMUNITY OUTREACH: To involve surrounding communities in games/events. Example: Middle Schools. Broadcasting through?? SOCIAL GATHERING FOR MOMS: Give Mom’s time to connect with others while building friendships. COMMUNITY SERVICE: Volunteer opportunities for our boys to give back to our communities. VARSITY HOMECOMING PARADE FLOAT: Organize and decorate 2 Floats for homecoming – Varsity offense/defense players OR Seniors/other floats. VARSITY JERSEY/MOM’a Club Shirt: This person will be responsible for ordering Jerseys for the Varsity Players moms. We use the vendor (Athletic Threads) VARSITY CARB MEALS: This committee is responsible for providing pre-game meals and game day meals for Varsity Team. This meal consists of a balanced, high carbohydrate meal each week. Volunteers must be prepared to serve meals each week. PHOTOGRAPHY COMMITTEE: Assist in compiling pictures of each player throughout the season. Will assist in keeping a checklist of students, act as a liaison with the school photographers, create/maintain a forum for uploading and storing photos. **SENIOR MOMS** SENIOR PARENT COMMITTEE: This team is responsible for the end of the year football game, Senior Parent Dinner & Thank you cards from each player to the coach. Also, responsible for collecting pictures from each player with family, which will be displayed at the Berry Center Video on the field. SENIOR PHOTOS (POSTERS/BANNERS): Head shots of Offense & Defense to display at the stadium on game day. This includes banners and Varsity Calendars for businesses in the surrounding community. SENIOR GIFT COORDINATOR: This person will be in charge with getting ideas from the team for gifts to give to the coaches at the end of the football season.
