M5 Manawatu Harness VALUE BET: Miss Middleton, Race 1. BEST BET: Pepper Pots, Race 7. Race 1: In the first race on the card, I personally like the chances of Miss Middleton. He has placed fresh up and you cant argue the form line last season when in the Harness jewels behind Prime power. Graham Neill always has his runners primed for their first start. Paying $5 dollars fixed to win its well over. Race 2: Cougar Bromac has sound claims in this race tonight, his run last start in behind the very smart filly Millie Sampson had promise and the win before that was strong. This field isnt overly strong and so the wide alley shouldnt affect the horse too much. $3 fixed are very good odds and I would take them any day Race 3: Cougar Bromac has sound claims on this race tonight, his run last start in behind the very smart filly Millie Sampson had promise and the win before that was strong. This field isnt overly strong and so the wide alley shouldnt affect too much. $3 fixed are very good odds and would take them anyday. Race 4:Tacful Lady has a very nice form-line for this field, with three seconds in its last five races it has enough form to give this field a good run for its money. As long as the wide draw can be overcome it will take a power of beating. Place value in the way of Belle Arising Race 5- To be completely honest, this race is very hard to tip, and I am steering well clear, but if i had to lean towards someone it would be Blythcliffe on debut, his qualifying win was strong and should push this field from his prominent draw. Race 6- Thrill factor from the ace draw tonight is a good chance. He has had a two month freshen up since his two disappointed efforts but should be ready to bounce back and gets the field to beat aswell. Obviously the favourite is a good chance but if thrill factor gets a cosy trip, either leads and stacks them up or gets the trail he will be the horse to beat coming around the final bend. Race 7-First leg of the Quaddie- Best bet of the night here. Pepper Pots will be ridiculously hard to beat here. He comes from much stronger fields at Alexandra Park in behind smart types like Mister Mara, Lincolns Megastar and Sharazona. He is well placed here in this much weaker field and should prove incredibly hard to roll. Race 8- Stunin Banner is the class horse of the field here, and proved he is ready for the a good first up effort with a strong workout performance on Saturday. He should prove hard to roll. Place value with Peter Scaife trained Johnny Wilkinson, good form before the spell and should run a bold race. Race 9- Con Grazia does look the logical bet in this race, but i do lean towards an upset in the way of Trouble Ado, his southern form is much better than it looks and this isnt the strongest of fields. If Trouble Ado can trot the whole way he will put alot of pressure on the favourite. Race 10- In the last race on the card tonight, I think there is a very strong quinella bet. Jaqueline Franco and Comrade look the stand out options in this very weak field and should finish 1 and 2. I cant separate them on merits so the quinella looks the most obvious solution.
