By mid-November, this gap will be filled with a new recital recorded in London this summer: Ma vie est un opéra / My life is an opera. A first hearing convinced that the time is right. Never has Roberto Alagna been able to render so many nuances, allowing him to convince in a wide range of repertoires. Especially, the voice let now hear a metal and a sound dough that make his rendition astonishing in the verismo repertoire (Puccini, Leoncavallo), and his ventures into the great French repertoire (Reyer, Gounod, Massenet) simply indispensable. Some sympathetic nods to the old style recitais are all tributes to Caruso, while we finally discover the French tenor in the German repertoire! Thats all we say to you .... for now!
