MAC STUDENTS/SENIORS - PAID INTERNSHIP 2013/2014 Job Description for Professional Services of a Marketing/Communications Intern for the Louisville Regional Science Fair, Inc. (August 1, 2013-June 30, 2014) Job duties will include the following: Writing 2-3 paragraph articles for weekly uploads to website, twitter, and Facebook page. Writing of 4-6 press releases per year. Writing newsletter text, flyers, judge recruitment materials, and instructions for teachers. Compiling and maintaining accurate regional media lists. Conducting personal or online interviews with students, judges, teachers, parents of LRSEF participants. Writing of 3-5 paragraph profiles of the above. Writing brief stories about the schools that enter LRSEF. Updating LRSEF calendar of events (weekly). Writing profiles of the Judges/ Board of Directors for LRSEF to be submitted to their company newsletters. Sorting and archiving LRSEF photographs (monthly) coordination of model releases, as needed. Listing and describing the Special Awards and the Category awards for the 2014 Fair. Creating and editing forms for LRSEF website. Compiling data for charts, lists and layouts for Fair. Compiling and proofing lists of winners for LRSEF. Proofing/editing for all Fair committees as needed for donor letters, thank you letters, sponsor lists, etc. Photography will be added, if the successful candidate(s) has this skill. The LRSEF intern will be hired by and report to the Chair of the LRSEF Marketing Committee and to the LRSEF President. The intern will be required to meet in person with the Marketing Committee Chair and/or President twice per month to review upcoming assignments. Intern will file work online for approval weekly. Intern must provide own work space and computer. This LRSEF Internship could be offered to two different students or to one person for the year, based on satisfactory completion of the fall contract. Preference will be given to a Bellarmine University School of Communications senior or graduate student, due to proximity to LRSEF Committee members offices. Intern Service Contract: 100 hours per fall and 100 hours per spring term (15 weeks/term) for total of 200 hours @ $15.00/hour. This breaks down to about 6-10 hours a week for each time period. The professional service contract will be for approximately $1,500 per term, not to exceed $3,000 per year. The selected intern(s) must file their own taxes.
