MADHU PURNIMA KISHWAR !! Folks, take a look at the book “Modhi Muslims & Media – Voices from Narendra Modhi’s Gujarat” by Madhu Kishwar, the extracts of which are available in manushi.in Introduced by a member in the facebook page “DHARM” few days ago, i bought the e-book immediately as i found something intriguing about it, and finished it in two days. True to my expectation, the facts about Gujarat flows out like Niagara falls. Such a meticulous research by Madhu that one by one she strips Modhi-baiters naked : Barkha Dutt , Arundhati Roy , Testa Seethalvad , Tarun Tejpal , Aakaar Patel (a.k.a Bekaar Patel ) Nilanjan Mukhopadyay....................... the list is huge , and the beauty is that most of these baiters are not from Gujarat. !! Being impressed by his organisational skills and diligent work in rehabilitation of earthquake victims, Advani and Vajpeyee forced a reluctant-inexperienced Modhi to take the CM post of Gujarat after Keshubhai Patel had messed up Gujarat. A big chunk of state bjp and administration was anti-Modhi when he took over as CM , and within 4 months the godhra tragedy and subsequent riots struck , rather the godhra incident was enacted by conspirators and collaborators. Why ? , because few days ago Modhi had successfully won his MLA election from Rajkot with a huge muslim support. It is the support of Muslims which rattled congress - leftist lunatics and their Islamic associates that the godhra attack was conspired. Like many , a question continued to nag my mind as to why it took 3 days to quell the riots. As it emerges from the book, Gujarat police force simply didn’t have the required strength to handle such huge rioting-mobs which numbered between 5,000 and 10,000. Modhi realised this and requested army help on the first day itself. But army was apprehensive to help, since all the units in Gujarat were stationed along the border in full combat readiness as an ‘eyeball to eyeball’ confrontation situation with Pakistan existed at that time due to jihaadhi attack on parliament. Army could be convinced only the next day and it took another day to fully deploy it in sensitive areas to stop the riots on the third day. That is not all, the aftershocks of the riots continued for 6 months with both bjp and congress anti-Modhi elements desperately inciting violence to tarnish Modhi while he battled with the admin to streamline and motivate them to tackle all exigencies on their own. Not surprisingly, he has succeeded in converting the Gujarat govt into an well-oiled machine which now runs smoothly by itself, while he can spare time to jet-set around india campaigning for lok sabha elections. Not only has the Gujarat govt managed to maintain peace for more than a decade , it has put itself on a fastrack of development under Modhi’s guidance and example. True to his words, Modhi guards public money so zealously that his CMO (chief minister’s office) doesn’t even offer tea/snacks to visitors. !! During the very first interview Madhu said to Modhi “Narendrabhai , at least offer me a cup of tea”. Modhi apologised and said “I am sorry these things don’t occur to me, this office is all about work” !! After this incident , the CMO has started offering tea/snacks to visitors. Modhi leads a frugal life style like his inspirations mahatma gandhi and budhdha. He is a very soft spoken character and never indulges in mud slinging against his detractors, the only persons he takes to task are those who indulge in corruption and misrule. No wonder that the opposition finds itself shaken to the roots by such a man, and they are going the extra mile with the help of lunatics in the national media to tarnish his image day in and day out. Madhu herself was working for Teesta Seethalvad as a journalist covering the riots. Much to her dismay, she found that Teesta was interested in running a vilification campaign against Modhi rather than bringing out the truth about the riots. This is when she decided to break ranks and conduct the investigation on her own. To her surprise she found Modhi and govt willing to cooperate with anyone who wanted to hear the correct story.
