MAGNUS NGEI ABE: PROFILE: Born on 24th May,1965 at Nchia, Eleme LGA,Sen.Magnus Ngei Abe hails from Bere community in Gokana LGA of R/state. He attended St.Peters state Sch,Yeghe before proceeding to Bedwell College and Akpor Grammar Sch,Ozuoba for secondary education. His love for higher education drove him to the R/state University of Science&Tech,Nkpolu-Oroworukwo where he obtained his LL.B(Law) between 1982-1986. Upon the return of democratic rule in 1999,Sen.Magnus Ngei Abe contested and won as a member of R/state House of Assembly representing the good people of Gokana between 1999-2003,he also doubled as the Minority Leader of that Assembly. At the expiration of the Assembly,Magnus Abe was appointed Hon.Commissioner for Information by former Gov.Peter Odili,a position he held till 2007 On 26th Oct 2007,Sen.Abe was appointed and served as the Secretary to the R/state government by Gov.Amaechi. In 2011,Magnus Ngei Abe answered the call of his people by resigning as Secretary to Rivers State government to contest for the Rivers South East Senatorial Seat,his victory was overwhelming. As a Senator of Fed.Republic of Nigeria,Magnus Abes dexterity has been proven again and again,a reason for which he was appointed Senate Committee Chairman on the all-important Downstream sector and member,National Population&Identity. A community leader with exceptional oratorical prowess,father,husband&political leader,Magnus Ngei Abe stands tall as one of the exceptionally brilliant first-time Senators of the 7th Senate. A true party man,as evidenced by his membership of the All Progressive Congress,he sought the nod of his party stakeholders to fly the guber flag in Rivers State.Although he didnt achieve that,he did remain committed to the party,a trait lacking in most Nigerian politicians,he has since directed his supporters to continue working for the party and has further pledged to support the candidacy of Dakuku Adol Peterside. As a further mark of his loyalty to the party,Sen.Abe has purchased the Senatorial form for the Rivers South East Senatorial district on the platform of the APC,a decision sanctioned by the leadership of the APC in Rivers State.
