McKinley Bank) FOR MORE INFORMATION CALL 452-2339 Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, Tenzin Kiyosaki lived in Fairbanks during pipeline days, then studied Tibetan Buddhism in Dharamsala, India, for about five years cumulatively. She relocated to Los Angeles, but returned to Dharamsala in l985 to be ordained a nun as “Tenzin” by the Dalai Lama. Returning to Los Angeles, Tenzin assisted managing Thupten Dhargye Ling, a leading Buddhist center in the U.S. From l999 to 2005, Tenzin served as Buddhist Chaplain at the US Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and worked with cadets through the changes that 9/11 precipitated. Also in Colorado Springs, for seven years she was Resident Teacher of a Buddhist group. Wishing to expand her professional life, she returned her nun’s vows in 2012. Tenzin is a Certified Chaplain in the College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy, and has an MA in Buddhist Studies from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. She is now a Hospice Chaplain in Los Angeles. Tenzin is also known as the co-author of Rich Brother Rich Sister , with her brother and entrepreneur, Robert Kiyosaki. Fairbanks again welcomes Tenzin, as she has taught here previously.
