MAINTAINING BALANCE - GET ORGANIZED How do you recognize a person who is not organized? He is always under pressure, manifesting strains and stress. He makes frequent mistakes, forget things here and there. Always seeming to be chasing one thing or the other, appears subdued or overwhelmed, looks torn apart, always busy doing stuff; but hissing from frustration of limited, and below expectation achievements. How do I begin? It will start as you let the pains of the past be your motivation, this will create a desire for a change. You and I must be tired of making excuses or justifying ourselves. You and I must determine to change. Determination is the key. We all have what it takes to turn a new leaf; we all have capacity to change! 1.Self Imposed Discipline: This is where to start. You have to discipline and conform yourself to a system you have developed; for example by putting things in appropriate places. What is the benefit of putting things haphazardly in places, and you do not remember where they are when you need them? You and I must keep our things in a way that they are retrievable when needed. You must develop a system to file and not to pile. A life of discipline enables you to make optimal use of your time and energy. 2. Set Daily Goals & Priority For Yourself: Develop plans, strategies and actions that will help you achieve your goals. Remember, a goal without a plan on how to achieve it, is a wish. The old saying still holds true; if wishes were horses, beggars will ride. This will enable you to stay focused on a daily basis, and help you live every day productively. There are so many things we need to attend to on daily basis. You and I must set priorities for them. Priorities are set based on our life’s purpose and our daily goals. There are some things that demand our attention and time, but do not contribute to the attainment of our daily goals. On the other hands there are other things which are absolutely crucial to the accomplishment of our daily goals. The cumulative accomplishment of our daily goals leads eventually to the fulfillment of our life’s purpose. We should utilize our time and energy productively. 3. Have Accountability Structure For Yourself: Everyone of us must have people we are open to, someone you are accountable to. The person may be a friend or a mentor; it may be your pastor, a professional colleague or someone you hold in high regard. It is unsafe for anyone not to have a mentor or an authority whom he or she is accountable to. If you are not under authority, you should have no authority. If you have no authority over you, you are living a vulnerable and dangerous life. As you begin today, it will be the beginning of a new era of purposeful and progressive life. PRAISE BE TO THE LORD
