We seek someone capable of managing a moderate sized maintenance department with the ability to be able to lead process improvements and run a slick operation. We have projected to spend major amounts on Capex every year to further improve the operations and this position will play a major role in these projects. The site runs 24 hour operation. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Maintenance Manager will have a strong mechanical background along with extensive supervisory/ management experiences ideally in FMCG, Qualified Fitter or Electrician, have strong supervisory experience and the ability to implement systems and procedures, strong WHS knowledge will be key to be successful in this role. As the Maintenance Manager , your role will see you responsible for: Managing a team of fitters, electricians, engineers and operator. Play a key role as the leading Mechanical Fitter and attend to mechanical problems across the production and packaging floor. Schedule, document and report general breakdowns, preventative maintenance and continuous improvement programs. Develop people skills across the entire plant and conduct tool box meetings with maintenance teams. Build, fix, commission and upgrade new and existing production lines. Install, configure, troubleshoot, fault find and maintain a high speed production / packaging environment. Manage high speed conveyors, mixing bowls, grinders, fillers, palletisers, de-palletisers, SMI machines, labellers, pneumatic systems, bearing systems and hydraulic systems. Manage, maintain, check and test production schedules. Design, weld and mount relevant mechanical structures that will accommodate various production runs and increases productivity or reduces breakdowns. Implement preventative maintenance schedules and service breakdowns with developments for continuous improvements Report maintenance and prepare for changeovers or shift handovers. Ensure all projects and lines are implemented, developed and ready for production.
