MAJOR CONCERNS FOR FLOODING IN SEQLD OVER THE NEXT 12 HOURS SHARE AND TAG FAMILY OR FRIENDS We have further concerns for South East Queensland over the next 12 hours. Weather models now have the Trough Stationery over the Sunshine Coast or just North of Brisbane This is fast becoming a very Serous Weather event for us here in SEQLD. An additional 100 - 200+mm is now expected from now until 9am tomorrow morning, this poses a very significant threat of flooding along All Creek and River Systems South of Gin Gin This including the Brisbane, Caboolture, Logan and other Catchments along the Coast. If we start seeing Flood Warnings please read them Carefully and act accordingly. Here is the latest Warning by the BoM SEVERE WEATHER WARNING for HEAVY RAINFALL For people in the Southeast Coast and parts of the Capricornia and Wide Bay and Burnett Forecast Districts. Synoptic Situation: Thunderstorms and areas of heavy rain, which may lead to flash flooding, are expected to continue in the warning area this afternoon. Currently, the heaviest rain is occurring about the Sunshine Coast and hinterland, with recent hourly falls peaking around 60mm west of Maroochydore. Locations which may be affected include Gold Coast, Brisbane, Maroochydore, Gympie, Bundaberg, Coolangatta, Ipswich, Moreton Bay and islands, Noosa, Hervey Bay, Fraser Island and Hervey Bay waters. Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should: * Avoid driving, walking or riding through flood waters. * Keep clear of creeks and storm drains. * For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500. The next warning is due to be issued by 7:35 pm.
