MAJOR FLOOD WARNING FOR THE GEORGINA RIVER AND EYRE CREEK Issued on Sunday 25 January 2015 by the Bureau of Meteorology, Brisbane. Issue Number: 14 Major floods levels expected at Marion Downs later today. Showers and storms are possible across the upper reaches of the catchment during Sunday and Monday although no significant rainfall totals are expected. GEORGINA RIVER: Minor to moderate flood levels continue to ease between Urandangi and Glenormiston, but renewed river level rises are being observed at Urandangi. Moderate flood levels continue to rise at Marion Downs. EYRE CREEK: Minor flood levels continue to rise at Bedourie. Predicted River Heights/Flows: GEORGINA RIVER at: MARION DOWNS: Exceed the major flood level (5.0 metres) Sunday afternoon, with a peak expected by Monday. EYRE CREEK at: BEDOURIE: River levels are likely to exceed the moderate flood level (4.0 metres) late next week. GLENGYLE: River levels may exceed the moderate flood level (3.0 metres) late next week or early the following week. Predictions will be refined as upstream peaks are recorded.
