MALAGA GROUP WEATHER UPDATE Saturday 16th August 2014: Hi all......a real mixed bag for your weather today, yes heat but not as hot as it has been, expected to see cloud across much of the province on/off throughout the day, and more importantly, watch for that darker lump of cloud as there remains risk of showers!!!.....I am busy during the day at the mo but looking back at the comments of yesterday there was much talk of the humidity levels and again those humidity levels will be high and that is being caused by the on shore winds coming straight off the Med!!!.....Now here comes the important bit!!!.......WIND!!!.......If you are on the western costa or up in those western mountains of the Serrania de Ronda the beware......On the coast that wind is going to be high and expect those high winds up in the mountains by the afternoon!!!.......And theres more!!!......EiA UNOFFICIAL WARNINGS FOR HIGH WINDS for tomorrow, Sunday 17th August!!!......Oh yes, tomorrow that wind is going to blast along much of the coast and again particularly on the western side of the province. It could be a day to avoid the beach unless your into a bit of sand blasting!!!......If your off to Gibraltar and walking across that runway make sure your wearing shoes with a good grip as its going to be one of those lean into the wind days!!!......The best place to be tomorrow will be the east as the Axarquia could even escape the cloud......It is getting cooler a tad as well......Come Monday that wind should have receded and there is a good chance of further cloud building so one to watch at the moment and we will update tomorrow!!!......Those Sierra Nevada loving types, me being one of them, should be aware that at this time Im looking at a good chance of rain in the south of Granada Monday day.....again one to watch on the national weather service should you be considering a trek out on those mountains!!!......As we continue through the week our summer appears to continue after this tad of cloudy stuff and those temperatures climb back up again and looking at the medium and long term outlook there is nothing threatening on my weather radar.....but we watch just in case!!!......So the question begs.....hands up all those that are now practicing the making of an emergency call???......I must stress that by practicing I dont mean phoning the emergency services up on 1 1 2 and saying The man that does the weather says I have to phone you!!!......what I mean is to think to yourself what information you would give to the 1 1 2 operator if you had to call!!!.....Why am I banging on about it?.....let me tell you that I used to travel the south of Spain conducting work and youd be surprised how many people did not know there address......The amount of times I had to meet clients at the local dustbins or at a local roundabout or other landmark because they could not give me directions or an address.....o what if you had to call the fire brigade to your house, or worse still, an Ambulance.....think about it.....practice it.....and even think about putting signs up or painting on trees or fences a coloured arrow....at least give the emergency services a fighting chance of finding you if something went wrong......So, for the mo, I leave the thought with you that practice makes perfect again as I did yesterday.......Again I am not about today so have fun and keep safe......Jim Fraser for the EiALERT NETWORK!!!
