#MALEFICENT #moviereview Synopsis: Consumed by pain and hatred, Maleficent, a powerful dark Queen casts a spell on an innocent child, Aurora that dooms her future. The king, desperate to keep his daughter from an inevitable future, sends her into the woods under the care of 3 fairy god mothers disguising as normal human beings until the day of her 16th birthday when the curse to put her in a sleep-like death is realized- if it will come to pass. Growing up as an orphan, Aurora finally learns the truth about her origin and treads back to the castle. But as she learns the whole truth about the curse, her father, Maleficent and the two kingdoms divided, she is faced with a life-changing choice. But you think you knew the real story behind this old time fairy tale? Think twice.. Story: The story of the film gives an entirely new approach. This time, to the villains own point of view. Maleficent will redefine the story of sleeping beauty that we were told as kids. The story attacks the audience with laughable humor, tear-jerking moments, giggling scenes and oohh thats why realizing moments. There is depth in the story which I really liked. Its not just an ordinary fairy tale thats filled with fantasy and magic. I like it because of how the story of sleeping beauty was presented in a metaphorical way. Such depth that I would have to commend the writer of the story. Especially for putting that twist that gave me a pair of teary eyes for yet another time. You have to find out yourself what im talking about. It may easily be miss-concluded so I suggest that you really pay attention especially in the last part. :) #nospoilerintended Direction: I think without any bias, even though I no director myself, I can say that it was a well-directed movie and even though the good acting and portrayal of the role by Angelina Jolie as Maleficent is purely her own control, the tight shots and closeups ordered by the director to give more emphasis to her talking facial expressions is a good move. Where to angle the camera, what to focus, and how to engage the audience in the journey through end to end is a very good technique for a directorial debut. Special Effects: Its nothing more of a spectacular visual ride that takes you to eye-popping, jaw-dropping realistic visual effects from magical creatures, to the whole enchanted forest itself. Not to mention if you watched it in #imax. Acting: Nothing more can be added to the word superb at some point in the movie, Angelina and her acting brought me to tears. I didnt want my friends to see. Lol But i think all the cast shared an equally brilliant performances in their respective roles. The three fairies had to undergo acrobatic training with cirque de soleil to achieve that realistic fairy moves as they were made in to these tiny-legged fairy godmothers. Aurora (Fanning) was strikingly beautiful and fits just right for the role. Sound effects/theme songs: Are just as good as the visual effects. And oh, do you remember the old original sleeping beauty lullaby? That creepy song that made Maleficent that infamous Queen, is there. So all in all, I would rate this movie an 8-8.5 rating or probably 9. #moviesyoushouldwatch
