MALETH VDC DECLARED FULLY LITERATE VDC Rajbiraj, June 20: Maleth VDC in Saptari district has been declared a fully literate VDC. The announcement was made after all 958 illiterate people in the VDC were made literate under the Literate Nepal Campaign. At a programme organised on Thursday on the occasion of concluding ceremony of the Literate Nepal Campaign, Chairman of the Community Women Development Committee, Engineer Indra Narayan Dev, claimed that all the illiterate people in the VDC have become literate. As many as 34 women facilitators were mobilized to run the literary classes. The literary classes were run for three months from mid-March. According to the District Education Office, preparation was underway to declare other VDCs as fully literate VDC as per the target of declaring the district as fully literate district within next year. Different people including founder chairperson of the Centre, Mira Dev, RSS correspondent Manohar Pokhrel, Ram Narayan Yadav, Santosh Yadav, Kalpana Mandal, Sayara Bano and Rabina Mandal expressed their views. The government has set a target to make all illiterate people literate within 2015. RSS
