MAN STABS GIRLFRIEND TO DEATH IN KASANE Kasane police are investigating a case in which a 31-year old woman was allegedly murdered by her 27-year old boyfriend. Acting Officer Commanding for District Number Seven, Superintendent Jimmy Mokoti said reports indicate that a woman was heard screaming for help on Tuesday, March 12 morning at around 4am. He said the murder occurred at the boyfriend’s residence at Kasane ward after a heated argument between the two lovers. He added that the man stabbed his girlfriend repeatedly with a knife and ran away to hide in nearby bushes where he was later found during the day. The victim was certified dead on arrival at the hospital. The suspect briefly appeared before the magistrate court on March 12 and his case was postponed to Marh 13. Supt. Mokoti said investigations are still on going as to what could have led to the murder. He said the family of the victim had been informed. He further advised young people to always seek help from others when they have problems, adding that in most cases problems that eventually lead to loss of lives could have been resolved. He also urged people to desist from taking the law into their own hands but instead leave matters to law enforcement officers. BOPA
