“MANAGUDI” FOR PRESERVING THE VALUES OF HINDU SANATANA DHARMA TTD Executive Officer Sri MG Gopal on Friday advocated the spiritual mass programme-”Managudi” jointly mulled by TTD along with AP Endowments department aimed at preserving the moral values embedded in Hindu Sanatana Dharma for this generation youth. The TTD numero uno official took part in the Varalakshmi Vratam programme organised in the Sri Padmavathi Ammavaru temple located in the premises of TTD-run Sri Padmavathi Women’s Degree College in Tirupati on Friday. Addressing the girl students on this auspicious occasion he said, Women should take the lead by participating in such spiritual programmes in a big way and bring back past glory to our culture and tradition”, he added. He said, Women in India enjoy all rights and privileges on par with men since ancient times. They competed with men in all fields including vedic karmas and other religious rituals and proved her importance in the development of the society”, he maintained. The EO said, “It’s a woman’s ability to give, share, bear, nurture, cook, work, qualities of head and heart, adjust, accept challenges and execute a mission in a successful manner. The girl students of this prestigious institution should develop in such a way that they should follow, respect and preserve age old traditions, moral fervor and spiritual vein in our society and stand as role model to others”, he added. Later the EO elaborated on the importance of Varalakshmi Vratam and how it is important to Hindus especially the women. “ This festival is observed largely by women, invoking the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi on them, their husbands and their children. He appreciated the College Principal Smt Gnana Kumari and her team of colleagues for organising such spiritual programmes involving the students. Meanwhile Varalakshmi Vratam has been observed in a grand manner by setting up a special platform decorated with flowers and pandals. Varalakshmi Ammavaru was seated on this platform and the priests recited Lakshmi Stotram and other relevant mantras and performed Vratam in a big way. HDPP Special Officer Sri Sriram Raghunath was also present.
