MANDERA NORTH POLL PETITION:TOMORROWS VERDICT. My fellow county brethrens,the clock is tickling towards the conclusion of the Mandera north poll petition.Tomorrow,another parable of political landmark will be added to the history of Mandera.The petitioner,Maj Bashir Hajj Siid Abdullahi,went to seek avenue in the corridors of our court with a firm belief in justice and fairness.The initial high court ruling quashed his request and the good major took another ladder towards the court of Appeal.And so tomorrow we are expecting whether the tides will favour the petitioner, Messr Maj Bashir Hajj Siid Abdullahi or the defendants, Messrs Hon Sen Hajj Billow Aden Kerrow and Hon Adan Mohamed Noor. It is against the background of this ruling that I appeal to the people of Mandera north to exercise patience, sobriety and live harmoniously.Do not let the verdict ignite inter-ethnic animosity and stoke up emotions whose impact will bring back the frosty times of inter-tribal terror.Whatever the verdict, lets observe peace and see that we will gain more from unity than in disunity.After all, it is not Gharre versus Degodia case,it is Major Bashir Versus Adan Mohamed Noor.Politicians are always one and the same.Them and their relatives will be safe in leafy Nairobi suburbs.It is the majority poor who will absorb the most shock from conflict.May we observe peace, Unity and brotherhood.
