If one refers to the Epigraphia Carnatica and goes through it`s volumes for reading stone tablets from South India , & goes through the dates mentioned there in ,both ,विक्रम शक / शालिवाहन शक / Vikram Shaka as well as the Shaliwahan Shaka & converts these dates into The Julian Calendar , one would be surprised to get the dates of Pousha Krishna Dashami ,the TITHI of मकर संक्रमण / संक्रांति /Makar Sankraman Sankranti , in the month of December about 700/800 + years ,before ! Because our मकर संक्रमण / संक्रांति /Makar Sankraman Sankranti FALLS ONLY in the Hindu Month of पौष POUSHA & in the Darker half-कृष्ण पक्ष Krishna Paksha , & on the दशमी / DASHMI [10th] तिथि / tithi ! No OTHER DAY ! As , this is corresponding ,approximately to modern Julian Calendar`s Jan 14 or around that date , FOLKs ,WRONGLY that, IT IS THE ONLY HINDU FESTIVAL to FALL EXACTLY on that 14 th of JAN. day of the Julian Calendar ! NOTHING CAN BE FARTHER FROM TRUTH as THIS M Y T H ! * PLEASE for GOD`s sake , remove it & DELETE it FROM YOUR MIND ! * 9 years ago , I had randomly taken some dates from the Epigrapha Carnatica , and converted those dates into Julian dates & proved that our Sankranti fell in December or even earlier in November ! About 1.000/1,200 years from now , in future , it will CERTAINLY FALL in the Month of FEBRUARY !
