MANILA -- The cancellation of Monday’s do-or-die game between Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters is a blessing in disguise for players of both teams. PBA Commissioner Chito Salud on Monday morning was forced to reschedule the game that was supposed to be played at the Cuneta Astrodome later in the day. “Due to heavy rains and flooding, the playoff game for the 8 quarterfinal slot between Ginebra and Talk n’ Text scheduled today has been reset for tomorrow, Tuesday, 7:15 PM at the Araneta Coliseum,” said the PBA release. “The quarterfinals will start on Wednesday, 5:15 PM Meralco vs. Barako Bull Energy Cola. 7:30 PM San Mig Coffee vs Alaska at the Araneta Coliseum,” added the release. “On Thursday at the Mall of Asia Arena, the games will be 5:15 PM Rain or Shine vs GlobalPort, 7:30 PM Petron Blaze vs winner of Ginebra-Talk ‘N Text playoff. The complete and revised schedule of playoffs and venues will follow shortly.” But for Ginebra star guard LA Tenorio, this is a perfect time for them to adjust more. “Mas OK nga ito, kasi magkakaruon pa kami ng extra time to adjust,” Tenorio told Solar Sports Desk. “Lalo kami. Talo kami last time. Maganda rin to kahit papano ma-break momentum nila!” Tenorio has been in constant contact with their liaison officer, Kuya Cripsin Tiamson, as to what will be the plan for the Kings today. “Tinext ko nga si Kuya Cris. Para alam ko kung may practice kami o wala. Hinihintay ko lang siya mag reply,” said the catquick Ginebra dribbler. Reports have that Ginebra management might just give their players the needed rest. It was a different feeling for Talk ‘N Text star forward Ranidel De Ocampo. “Eto nag-iisip ako kung ano gagawin. Sayang nga, ready na kasi katawan at mindset ko sa game, tapos bigla na-cancel,” de Ocampo. “Pero OK na rin yun na nakansel, kesa marami ma-apektuhan… Mamaya ma-stranded pa mga fans,” he added. Both De Ocampo and Tenorio meanwhile see it as a neutral development for both teams. “Hindi mo rin masasabi na lalamang Ginebra sa adjustment, kasi kami rin makakapag adjust,” De Ocampo said. “OK din kasi makakapagpahinga kami.
