MANTECA, CA - The family of Ernest Duenez Jr. – murdered by the Manteca Police Dept on June 8, 2011 – has announced it is begrudgingly accepting a settlement with the City of Manteca for $2.2 million. The family, in a statement below, said the life of Ernest was priceless, but they could not put their faith in a jury after juries have repeatedly allowed killer law enforcement officers to literally get away with murder. Millions of people viewed the dash cam video (https://youtube/watch?v=LhnY17F_eiQ), and 91 percent of those surveyed by the Los Angeles Times called for the prosecution of officer John Moody for killing an unarmed Ernest, who was shot 13 plus times in less than 5 seconds.
