MANX MUD PROPOSALS AND PLANS FOR THE COMING WINTER!! Right guys, the team got together tonight and had a good talk about how we can make the future of Manx Mud bigger and better for everyone! The summer has been long and not without its up and downs and for the winter we are hoping to bring back the brilliant vibe the events have had in the past... so here we go!! MARSHALLS - NEW IDEA We all know how much hassle this has caused this year but we also understand that it is hard to persuade a family or friend to give up there Sunday to stand in a plantation all day with no reward. For the coming winter series we are proposing to increase the entry fee of the races to £15... this increase will allow us to pay Marshalls for their kind work and hopefully entice more people to offer up their free time to help while enjoying the racing action. So We are proposing that each Marshall will now receive £25 a race. NEW CATEGORIES For the coming series we are proposing to change the current categories to Senior, Sport & Masters 30+... Senior Category (the fast class) - will be a combination category of the current elite & low end sport class riders Masters - This class will be for riders who are 30+ only, riders who are in this class also have the option to put themselves into the senior category if they so wish Sport - This class has been made to hopefully encourage more enduro riders to the sport, and will comprise of riders on trail bikes and the current novice category and high end sport riders. A rider list will soon be posted on this with further information... NEW MOTO CHAMPIONSHIP In addition to the new categories we will also be running a new championship format. Points will now be awarded on the running order of each race run to calculate the overall standings so 2 sets of points are available a race. WINTER SERIES AND DATES Folks we are pleased to annouce this winter that we are hosting a 3 round race series, below are the provisional race dates and venues to put in your diary. Round 1 Cringle Plantation - 28th December (fancy dress and spot prizes) Round 2 Kerroodhoo Plantation - 25th January Round 3 Brookdale Plantation - 22nd February TRAIL AND DEVELOPMENT Some brilliant work has been carried out especially recently across the Island to develop and improve the trail network and we cant but help feel we have maybe fell behind a little on this, so for this coming winter we are proposing to hold Trail Build & Maintenance Days to put DH trails well and truely back on the map. Gareth Fargher will be the man heading this up and updates will be released shortly. GETTING NEW RIDERS INTO THE SPORT Headed by Adam Henderson we are proposing to host newcomer training/ride days the day before the winter series events. This will give riders who have never experienced DH trails an opportunity to practice the track before the event and get advice from a Level 3 British Cycling coach free of charge. and last but not least we would like to welcome Adam Henderson to the Manx Mud team, its great to have him on board!
