I was stationed there from Sept 1968 to June 1978. I sprayed this area heavily with Agent Orange herbicides to kill the vegetation. I sprayed on Andersen AFB and off base on all Air Force fuels assets to include the pipelines, fuel tank farms at Potts Junction and Tumon underground fuel tank farm (also known as Harmon POL) , the Naval Air Station Air Force booster pump station and the air force fuel tanks at the Naval Fuel Supply Depot.. The center barracks were the Supply Squadron, and opposite it was the Civil Engineering Squadron which also housed the Filipino Mangalao Club and Movie theater. Also at the end of the Supply Barracks was the AAFES Cafeteria. the Barracks next to the supply Barracks going toward the access road was the CHOW HALL which also housed SERVICES SQUADRON PERSONNEL and across from that was the Post office with mail boxes and transient airmans quarters. at the end of the barracks complex last two barracks was FMS/AMS BARRACKS AND MMS BARRACKS. 2 years ago | reply C Wallin 68/69 3960TH CES (guest) I was stationed at Andersen from June 68 TO Oct 69. I was in the 3960th CES and lived in the CES barracks at the Marbo Annex.I have tried to find out if the barracks still exist, but never get a reply from Andersen or any local organization I have emailed in the past. I worked on and off base in Base Housing Maintence and on the flight hanger, chow hall and JP4 fuel lines. I enjoyed MSGT Fosters comments about Marbo. 2 years ago | reply [email protected] (guest) Hello Mr Wallin, I beleive if you look at Google Earth you will find that the entire area you refer to as the Marbo Annex has been closed down for quit awhile and is overgrown. If you go to the online newspaper pdn and look up monthly photos from either April or May 2013 you will find the military training in vacant housing. I believe it is of Marbo or now refered to Anderson or Andie South. It is gated and closed off to traffic and over grown. 1 year ago | reply Thomas Strohmeyer (guest) Hafa adai from Guam. I can confirm that this housing area, known as Andersen South, is now closed and abandoned. It was turned turned over to the Government of Guam in the late nineties as part of the base closure and realignment that also closed the NAS Agana on Guam. I believe the last time it was occupied was by athletes visiting Guam in the 1999 South Pacific Games - Andy South was the athletes village. Since that time it has become completely overgrown. In the mid 2000s there were a spate of vandalism as people stripped the buildings of anything copper; pipes, electrical wiring. A couple people actually electrocuted themselves pulling the power lines down from utility poles. The governments response was to cut all power to the area, which led to the complete ransacking of the housing area. 5 months ago | reply [email protected] (guest) Also if the abandoned airfield refered to is just northeast of the Marbo Annex Barracks, it is probably the dragstrip and the oval raceway by it now. 1 year ago | reply Roland R. LaFrance, Sr. Veteran (guest) I was there in 1973, TDY from Loring, living in the CES barracks, as a firefighter. The first building on the right also housed an office used as Fire Station 3. The pumper was parked outside on the cement driveway. Two firefighters were assigned there on each shift. I have a picture of the inside & the outside. How long was Agent Orange potent for? 10 months ago | reply K Devine-Brink (guest) Mr LaFrance... A huge section of this small island is still closed off, because the Agent Orange is still potent. It just wasnt common knowledge that AO was dangerous in 73. 8 months ago | reply anthony carter (guest) i was stationed in marbo from jan 68 to jun 69 ces was across from flip club in center set of barracks 4 days ago | reply anthony carter (guest) i was in fuelsystems maintenance then in entomology i.e. pest control i ran the fogger at night around marbo spraying malathion for mosquito and flying termites and used ddt, malathion, deeldrin, diazanon ,lindane, methyl bromide arsenic sprays etc the barracks nco for ces was denver barnes he and i were stationd together in davis monthan before that 4 days ago | reply en This article was last modified 2 years ago × Post comment Log in with Facebook Log in with VK or continue as guest
