MARCH 17, 2014 (Monday 2nd Wk of LENT) Reflection: (Dan. 9:4-16; Lk. 6:36-38) The first reading is a penance prayer. For over a thousand years, this sincere prayer has been read in todays Lenten Mass. A national act of contrition describing Gods perfection and mans imperfection. The Gospel passage tells us the need to forgive others in order to receive Gods forgiveness. With us God will use the same measure that we use with others. Let us contemplate on the importance of humility and compassion. No one can be repentant at all without being humble of his/her imperfections. And not anyone can receive Gods forgiveness without forgiving other sins either. Le us pray to the Lord for the grace of humility and for a forgiving attitude.... During LENTEN SEASON, our faith will be tested sometimes by natural circumstances or unexpected events; and even by people whose intentions were nothing but to make us falter and weaken our faith. Let us be humble and compassionate always - stick to where we are - FIDELITY.
