MARCH we have been able to cater for many of our wounded and amputees with their families, including tetraplegics, paraplegics, double and triple amputees, the blind, the holiday that they deserve here in Cyprus. Basically what we do is to contact wounded serving and veterans through the Band of Brothers/Sisters and blesma in the UK. Once an application is received we marry up the family with suitable accommodation which has been kindly donated free of charge by home owners here in the Paphos region. We do contribute to the owners electricity and utility charges, we also clean the villas/apartments before and after our guests and have all the bedding/towels laundered. Each of our guests receives a welcome pack from us free of charge. We do not just cater for wounded from Afghanistan, we have no cutoff date so veterans from all conflicts are welcome to come. We have had veterans from the Falklands, Northern Ireland etc. We meet our guests at the airport, take them to the accommodation and make sure they are comfortable and have everything they need at the start of their holiday, then at the end of their stay we take them back to the airport. We have medical services by Phoenix Medical Services, fully trained paramedics on hand where necessary and ambulance service to hospital free of charge.
