MARITIME SILK ROAD IN SCS: PROBLEMATIC ISSUES. China continues with its assertive sovereignty claims and Taiwan has occupied the biggest island, Itu Aba in Spratlys island group, it is indeed major stumbling block in solving the SCS overlapping claims. Itu Aba has a complete Military barracks wich can accommodate about a battalion strength of Personnel and worth of goods and Oil/gas transported using the SCS is about US$1.3 trillion. Therefore, economics need outweights the Military clashes among the claimant states.
