MARS in the PNW has been contacted about two senior Mini Aussies - TopicsExpress

MARS in the PNW has been contacted about two senior Mini Aussies in a shelter in central Oregon. Their story is especially sad, and Ive copied it directly from the email message from the shelter (see below). Wed like to be able to help, but we cant without a foster home for them. Would you consider giving two old girls a place to stay for the months or years that they have remaining to them? For more information, please contact pacificnw_mars@yahoo. If you are interested in fostering or adopting, please go to miniaussierescue.org and complete an application. Their story follows. Ethel is a spayed 18lb 15 year old Miniature Australian Shepherd and Lucy is a spayed 23.5lb 15 year old Miniature Australian Shepherd. They were surrendered because their owner is leaving town for six months and did not want to take the dogs with. These two have been together their whole lives and our hope is to keep them together. Due to their age, health and us wanting to keep them together we feel their chances of getting adopted here are very slim. The previous owner states that they are housetrained , they have been mainly indoors only, they ride well in the car, used to being brushed, walk well on a leash, used to nail trimmings, have been around cats, dogs and children. Although it says they are used to being brushed their coats do not look like have been groomed for a while. Here at (the shelter) they have shown to be very sweet and friendly but they are very stressed in the shelter environment. Lucy seems to be the outgoing one as she will approach you to say hi right away, Ethel is timid and takes time to warm up to you. --PNW MARS
