*MARVEL SPOILERS AHEAD!!! DO NOT READ IF YOU ARE NOT UP-TO-DATE ON THE MARVEL MOVIES---if you read, it is YOUR fault, not mine. THERE ARE SPOILERS* My thoughts on (and what I know about) the Infinity Stone storyline for the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Ok, lets start from the beginning. Well, Im starting with the Infinity Gauntlet that was vaguely seem in Thor (first one--slow-motioned in video below). Then theres the Tesseract, which was metioned first, technically, in Captain America: First Avenger, then in Iron Man 2 (noted in Howard Starks notes), then in Thor (first one), then the entire focus of Avengers, then mentioned in Thor: The Dark World, and finally mentioned by The Collector in Guardians of the Galaxy. Then theres the Aether, which is the sole focus of Thor: The Dark World, then is given to The Collector at the end. It is later mentioned by The Collector in Guardians of the Galaxy. Then theres The Orb from Guardians of the Galaxy (which is basically the main focus of the movie) So, we have the Gauntlet and 3 out of the 6 Infinity Stones right now in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) There are 6 total (Shown in pic below) stones. Obviously, they will put the other three somewhere in the new few movies--most likely Captain America and Thor...maybe in another Iron Man--maybe. Age of Ultron is up in the air with information, so there isnt a lot to go on--other than speculation on if Tony will be the creator of Ultron, instead of Hank Pym (though an Ant-Man movie is being talked about). But, despite the little diversion of Ultron, and a talk of putting Spiderman in the Avengers at the end of Amazing Spiderman 3 (which is supposedly going to be Spiderman vs Sinister 6).....THE MAIN FOCUS IS THANOS!!! Thanos was glimpsed at the end of Avengers, and was seen more in Guardians of the Galaxy. This leads me to believe that regardless of upcoming movies for the next year or two, Thanos will be the main focus of Avengers 3--where I believe they will have the HUGE battle to stop Thanos and save all of reality. This is about the extant of my knowledge, with some personal thoughts on the future. Now, as of other Marvel-related movies (excluding Avengers): I believe Amazing Spiderman 3, as stated above, will be Spidey vs the Sinister 6; Then with X-Men (judging from seeing a younger Apocalypse at the end of Days of Future Past--seen in pic below), the X-Men will be facing off against....well, duh, Apocalypse. So far, this is ALL the info/knowledge/speculation that I have. I hope Im right and these paths are the ones we fans will see. Feel free to comment your thoughts!
