MARY KUHL is a terrific fourth-grade teacher at McCornack Elementary School and a nominee for the 2014 ACE Awards! She is deeply dedicated to her students and consistently goes above and beyond expectations. One parent says, She has been extremely helpful with my sons behavioral issues and has been a great advocate for him. My son was sick for 2 weeks. She came by our house one afternoon and brought him a hot chocolate and the newsletters and take home papers from the last week for him to go over. She was genuinely concerned for his wellbeing and wanted to make sure he was feeling better. He was very excited to see her and it motivated him to want to go back to school. This was such a kind gesture that really showed my son that she cares about him and enjoys seeing him in class. That is very important to my son. Mary is a great teacher not just to her fourth grade students, but also to future teachers learning their craft. This brief video tells the story of how Mary mentored a practicum student last year.
