Nursing education aims to cultivate qualification and ability in nurses who promote well-being of nursing recipients, such as individuals, families, and communities, and maintains therapeutic care relations by establishing a solid view of occupation as a professional, through curricula based on nursing education philosophy and objectives and implementing whole-personal nursing with professional and skilled nursing techniques to understand patients as beings having life and dignity. They also acquire problem-solving ability through scientific knowledge and critical thinking, and cope with family demands for health. Department of Biomedical Laboratory Science This department aims to nurture clinical pathology experts in a 25-year tradition boasting of the highest scores in the national examination for clinical pathologists and an outstanding employment rate nationwide with faithful theoretical education provided by the teaching staff consisting of clinical pathologists rich in clinical experiences and practical education using up-to-date practice equipment. The occupation of clinical pathology has been selected as one of the 20 best occupations, considering wage, job satisfaction, stress level, working environment, and safety, according to the Almanac Report by the US Les Krantz Occupation Institute, which objectively proves that the field of clinical pathology is in a very advantageous position in the 21st century as a knowledgeable occupational group. Department of Radiology The Department of Radiology strives to cultivate professional manpower in the field of medical technology to diagnose diseases correctly and treat malignant tumors by using up-to-date medical equipment. Its primary aim is to teach systematized knowledge and skills in the field of health care and produce competent radiologists who can contribute to improvement in national health. In particular, this department boasts a 100% employment rate by cultivating specialized talent to acquire various licenses in order to meet the demand for segmentation and specialization in the field of radiology. Department of Dental Hygiene The Department of Dental Hygiene aims to nurture new professionals through scientific and systematic education to maintain and enhance oral health for people. Education focuses on the role of nurturing whole-personal dental hygienists through character education based on humanistic values, basic education and intensive major instruction of dental hygiene, and experimental and practical field education to enhance oral health for people and improve the quality of life. Department of Health Administration The Department of Health Administration aims to nurture health administration experts, or competent health information managers who can efficiently deal with tasks related to health and hospital administration, such as medical record management, medical information management, and medical insurance receipt, demand, and review, by providing technical knowledge about health information systems, hospital administration, and medical records necessary to enhance national welfare and improve health maintenance for people. Department of Social Welfare The Department of Social Welfare aims to nurture social workers making efforts to improve the quality of life for all people by intervening directly in human affairs. Considering the realities of expanding the occupation of social welfare, owing to the national policy of building welfare society, majors in social welfare have very promising career opportunities. Department of Ocular Optics Nurturing professional optometrists in charge of national vision-care, the Department of Ocular Optics aims to nurture able optometrists well-versed in theories and practice and cultivate professional manpower required by the department of ophthalmology in general hospitals and by ophthalmological hospitals (or clinics) through practice-based curricular management. This department boasts of a 100% employment rate in the major field among graduates with the highest passing rate and generates top grades in the yearly-based national examination for optometrists. Department of Emergency Medical Practices The Department of Emergency Medical Practices in Masan University has a historical tradition of being the first established in Korea as part of the national policy in 1995. As society becomes complicated and mechanized, such emergency situations as accidents, drug addiction, and disease occurrence are on the gradual increase, keenly demanding establishment of emergency medical systems. Aware of the fact that cultivation of emergency medical manpower has made important contributions to the advancement of medical welfare in Korea, this department aims to train and nurture first-level emergency medical technicians who can perform a fundamental responsibility as emergency medical workers help to save and maintain patients lives, prevent disabilities, and stimulate pain relief and recovery by offering proper emergency treatment at the scene of accidents and during transfer by giving rapid and safe transfer to a hospital when emergency patients appear. Department of Physical Therapy The Department of Physical Therapy, which was established with the aim of realizing human-respecting/future-oriented physical treatment in 1996, is pursuing a pioneering role to realize various subject areas and ground-based physical therapy in order to cultivate human-respecting character and provide major knowledge and strives to provide good-quality education through clinically-based practical education reinforcement programs to meet global standards as an educational institution to nurture physical therapists equipped with expertise to help society. Capable professionals generate high employment rates with various occupations in medical institutions, public institutions, colleges, and industrial organizations all over the country. We boast of a high admission rate annually in our promising department. Division of Beauty Care This division, which was established in 1996, has lecture rooms on first and second floors, the department office, professors rooms, and skin practice rooms on the third floor, makeup practice rooms and general practice rooms on the fourth floor, and hair practice rooms on the fifth floor, with each practice room equipped with up-to-date practice apparatus. This division provides opportunities for intensive learning in the major field, including skin care to learn and access knowledge about beauty and skin health, hair design to add artistic value and creativity to the scientific foundation, and makeup to express total coordination based on aesthetic sense and color sensation. From the second semester of the first school year, we offer practical education for students to be come experts desired by industrial organizations in each major field on graduation. Department of Dental Laboratory Dental Laboratory deals with concepts and principles of dental braces and theories and practice related to the braces to prevent and treat malocclusion and prosthesis to restore shapes and functions of teeth and surrounding histology. To do this, the Department of Dental Laboratory aims to cultivate good character through systematic liberal arts and major subject courses and to nurture able dental technicians to fit internationalized age and knowledge-based society through acquisition of technical knowledge and advanced skills. Department of Occupational Therapy Occupational Therapy is a technical area of health care to treat and instruct those with malfunction for some reason in physical, mental, and developmental processes through meaningful therapeutic activities and to help them live a daily life independently, participate actively socially, and lead happy lives. Therefore, occupational therapists apply various therapeutic methods, use various supplementary tools, and get various types of environmental adaptative training to help disabled people live a life as productively as possible. Through such various therapeutic methods, occupational therapists help those having problems with physical, cognitive, sensational, kinetic, or general functions and acquire or maintain skills to perform daily activities (or operations) essential to survive.br> iconDepartment of Rehabilitation Alternative medicine, which reinforces natural healing power and stimulates immunity for patients through physical balance and harmony with an emphasis placed on natural circulation, is garnering the spotlight both at home and abroad. It also clarifies the rights and duties of the people and responsibilities of the state and local governments to lead healthy family lives and maintain and develop family, search for proper solutions to various home problems raised in modern society, and implements support policies to improve welfare for family members in pursuit of a healthy family. Division of Shipbuilding Mechanical and Automotive Engineering Providing field-based education to meet the flow of the present age when mechanical, automotive, and shipbuilding industries have become the hub of the industrial world, the Division of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering was first established at Masan University, among other colleges related to mechanics and automobiles, in South Gyeongsang Province, and is now composed of such major courses as computer aided design, automobile maintenance inspection, and car tuning. Division of Electronic and Communications As a national basic industry, the field of shipbuilding and electronic communications is an up-to-date technical area to lead the 21C shipbuilding and marine area. The regions of Jinhae, Tongyeong, and Geoje have large-scale shipbuilding yards and those of Changwon and Masan possess the largest mechatronics industrial complexes in the country, providing significantly more opportunities to find employment more than in other fields. To cultivate talent for these fields, Masan University is operating Departments of Shipbuilding Mechatronics, Shipbuilding CAD Information, and Marine Leisure Boats. Department of Navy Petty Officer The Department of Navy Petty Officer selects students who hope to be marine non-commissioned officers, international gentleman, and cultivates excellent manpower for non-commissioned officers through specialized curricula. Department of Non Commissioned Officer The Department of Non-Commissioned Officer aims to produce professional non-commissioned officers to cope actively with changes in national defense environment in the future and nurtures good non-commissioned officers combining resourcefulness, virtue, and courage through various types of practical education ranging from basic learning to key tasks to perform as central executives. This is achieved by reconstructing key fields related to military tasks in the existing field of non-commissioned officers with the purpose of nurturing able non-commissioned officers with expertise and practice on the basis of job training and physical strength training necessary to perform the duties after commissioning a non-commissioned officer. Department of Child Art Education The Department of Child Art Education provides education to develop emotion, creativity, and infinite imagination in infanthood and early childhood, which is the most important basis of human development. We reinforce specific theoretical and practical education for infanthood and early childhood education, and help children cultivate high qualification and good characters through our professionals. Department of Oriental Herb Science As a two-year course established in 2002, the Department of Oriental Herb Science has the longest tradition in Gyeongsang Province, which is a mecca of Oriental medicine. It has developed together with the community at the center of Oriental medical service and Oriental medical industry and produced capable professionals in the field of Oriental medicine, who are now working in various areas. Division of Leisure Sports The Division of Leisure Sports is composed of the department of sports in order to nurture differentiated, good future sports leaders who will generate teaching management ability and practical planning items as well as improve kinetic functions required in the sport-for-all field on a basis of personally customized theoretical education and practical field training. As well, we cultivate talents in golf who have acquired technical knowledge of golf and obtained systematic and scientific theories and practical competence. Department of Sommelier Beverage The Department of Sommelier Beverage was first established as a department to reward students with degrees in the study of drink among colleges in Korea in 2006 and is nurturing experts in wine to produce talents in the domestic and foreign food and beverage industry. Division of Food Science The Division of Food Science aims to improve nutrition through balanced dietary life to maintain human health, provide convenient and good-quality food to consumers and give them an understanding of food culture, and nurture talents who can cope actively with the rapid development of the food service industry and help Korea become a unique, global leader in the 21C cultural industry. For this purpose, this division is composed of Departments of Food and Nutrition, Hotel Culinary Art, and Hotel Confectionery and BaKing. Department of Marketing Management The Department of Marketing Management aims to nurture talents equipped with expertise necessary for company operation and management and help acquire general knowledge of management and administration through education based on practice and theories necessary for technical manpower demanded by businesses. Department of Japanese Tourism The Department of Japanese Tourism aims to nurture creative and technical professionals who have proficiency in practical Japanese language to use in tourism practice, along with tourism theories and information processing ability, in order to lead hotel, travel agency, and tourism industries. Department of Robotics & FA The Department of Robotics & FA aims to nurture specialized industrial robot operators and robot application engineers in the production automation field, including robot control technology and PLC control technology, in order to cope efficiently with industrial technologies, which become complex and specialized. Eventually, they will assume a central role in the robot and production automation field, which is the new growth-driving industry of Korea and the regional strategic industry of South Gyeongsang Province
