MASTER OF CIRCUMSTANCES “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us” (Romans 8:37) It is not the circumstances around us that determine what we make out of every situation of life. It is actually who we are in reality. However, many people, including youths, often blame their defeat and failures on the circumstances surrounding them. This is rather unfortunate as circumstances of life, if allowed, can clip the wings that would have propelled a person to great heights. Focusing on circumstances can actually destabilize and immobilize a person preventing him from achieving his full potential. The good news is that circumstances are never permanent, but are often the means for a person to identify, discover, develop and deploy God given potentials. The circumstances in which you find yourself may not be your own making; nonetheless, you bear the responsibility for your disposition or response to them. Therefore, the fact that you came from a poor family and there was no money to sponsor your education should be stepping stones to success rather than obstacles. The Bible says, “I have seen servants upon horses, and princes walking as servants upon the earth” (Eccl 10:7). This implies that even if you are an orphan, or your parents have lost their jobs or you have failed certain subjects repeatedly, you should not see this as the end of the road for you rather you must put your faith in God with determination and perseverance to overcome these present circumstances of life Challenge: Trust in God brings about positive change in story. Prayer: Lord, Master of all circumstances, help me to change may awkward situation today.
