MATCH PREVIEW - David McMahon. Rennes v Lille - Stade de la Route de Lorient - 25/10/13 Well what can I say about these 2 heavyweights of the game?! Both Premier League winners (season 13 and season 20 respectively) Both one club men and Both fierce competitors !!! No quarter will be given as Rennes look to keep the pressure on Real Oviedo at the top of the table. Lille will be out for revenge after losing the previous meeting 2-1 with Rennes captain and talisman Andrei Rasnoveanu grabbing both goals on that occasion. Manager Jon Smart will be hoping that his sides very impressive home record this season (only one loss - Nurnberg) will cast doubts in his opposite numbers mind. Having analysed both teams i am going for a score draw in this match. Although Lilles away record could be better... its worth noting that out of 9 games away they have only conceded 9 goals which is down in no small part to their mean defence and Goalkeeper Marcial Cuenca (91.3%) I also notice that Rennes have played a different Central Defender in each of their last 3 league games which suggests an uncertainty at the very heart of their team.
