MATCH REPORT: Pre-Season Friendly HIGHMOOR IBIS 3 BANBURY UNITED 4 (Courtesy of David Shadbolt, Programme Editor) United fight back back from a 3-0 deficit after just a quarter of an hour of the game to notch their first victory of their pre-season campaign. United visited Reading based HIghmoor Ibis, who finished fourth in the Hellenic League Premier Division last season, for their latest pre-season game on Saturday. United got off to the worst of starts going behind as early as the fifth minute. It soon got worse though as less than 60 seconds later it was 2-0. When Highmoor Ibis added a third on the quarter of an hour mark it looked as though the afternoon was going to turn into an embarrassment to the Southern League side. However, within two minutes of conceding the third goal United had pulled a goal back through former Thamsemead Town and North Greenford United player Saleem Masri to give them some hope. There were no further goals in the first half but ten minutes into the second period Masri scored his second goal of the game to bring the deficit down to just one goal. Then just two minutes later, United were back on level terms when Tanasheh Abrahams competently converted a penalty-kick. The remarkable turnaround was completed fifteen minutes from time when substitute Conor Goddard scored Uniteds fourth.
