MATCHETTS BRING THE WILD CHILD KID INTO THE GAME! “You can’t have a racer like Sheldon Haudenschild sitting on the hill at a race like this,” says Sydney Sprintcar rising star Jimmy Matchett, “so Dad and I did something about it.” The result is, through Mick and Jimmy Matchett’s generosity and vision, Sheldon will now saddle up in Micks #60 Ian Cubitt’s Granny Flat Specialist Maxim for the two nights of this weekend’s Scott Darley Challenge at Valvoline Raceway. “It was Max Johnston who encouraged us to look at running Sheldon,” Matchett continues, “and given that Dad hadn’t planned on racing this weekend anyway it made sense for us to put a deal together.” For Sheldon, it’s a great last minute opportunity to race at Valvoline Raceway before he joins back up with the Keen/Nash Team for the Warrnambool Classic next weekend. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to race Mick Matchett’s car,” says Haudenschild, “it means I get to race with my Dad this weekend in Sydney at a place I was really keen to do some laps on.” Haudenschild Jr’s inclusion into the field is a massive bonus for Valvoline Raceway fans and takes the car count to 78 for the weekend!
