MATTAGAMI RIVER UPDATE: (Source: City of Timmins) The Upper Mattagami River Water Management Committee met on Sunday morning (This morning) and wishes to report that the water level of the Mattagami River (at the Mattagami Bridge) is expected to remain constant over the next 24 hours. At the present water level, the City of Timmins’ Public Works Department will be closing a section of Norman Street from the Riverside Drive access point (barricades will be erected in the vicinity of the city snow dump location on Norman Street). At the present water level, the City of Timmins’ Public Works Department will maintain access to Norman Street from the Lafleur Drive access point. This access is to be used for local traffic only. The road closure will remain in effect until water level recedes.
