MATTERS OF KURESOI SOUTH: GIRL CHILD EDUCATION Time for promises is gone. It is now our time to shape Tinet Ward with equal services with other communities. Those were Hon ZK Cheruiyots words in March this year at a function in Tinet ward. On Tuesday, 14th Oct 2014, there was a Ground Breaking ceremony for one of the project he had promise the residents of Tinet Ward: Tinet Girls School. I am compelled by my mum Rebecca’s words that shed light to my path to date. I feel the need to personally give education to the girl child in her memory. That is inscribed in my manifesto. Hon Zk had said. And true to his word the project on the financial year 2013/14 was allocated Ksh. 2m to kickstart it. It is expected the school will host about 1500 Ogiek girls who apparently due to culture have not been getting deserving attentions in terms of education. The ceremony was done on his behalf by the CDFC Chair accampanied by CDFC Committe, Rev. Bett of AIC Keringet DCC. It was attented by hundreds of parents. Contractor is already on the site and it is exected that early next year, the school will start admitting students.
