MAY GOD BLESS ALL YOU TRUE GOSPEL PREACHERS! KEEP PREACHING. Regarding Cornelius all of his giving generously to those in need and regular prayers to God did not bring forgiveness. Even though he and his family were sincere, it was not good enough. They remained in their sins and on the road to hell, until they heard the vital gospel truth and acted upon it. This proves how important believing the truth is. Many people in our day wrongly think if you are sincere and believe in God that is good enough for salvation. That is not what the Bible teaches anywhere, including here with Cornelius the centurion.
