MAY IS HOME!!! We got home just a little while ago with May. Dr. Lambert and Dr. Norton both are just amazed that she recovered from this serious of a colic without surgery! Dr. Lambert has visited the page and read all of your amazing comments. She is really touched and believes that you all have made a big difference in Mays life! We have to thank you all so very much for your prayers and the love that you sent to May and Dr. Lambert during the past few days. Several of you also called in and made contributions towards her vet bill! Thank you seems so inadequate! The bills for these horses really do add up and having the bill be lower than you expected was really a nice treat. If you wanted to make a contribution you can still call the clinic at 512-285-3395. Well settle up the final amount a few days from now. May is in her stall and clearly thinks she is starving! ;) She started munching on stall shavings! Knucklehead! She got 1/2 of a flake of alfalfa and will be able to have some dinner later tonight. The boys were all thrilled to see the trailer pull up! They were running up and down the fence and Gazzy was waiting at the gate to come in! When he finally got to her they sniffed noses and Gazzy kept nickering at her :-) He really does love her and May seemed happy to see him as well! When we were walking her out of the clinic to the trailer we actually heard a loud neigh from her for the first time! Not sure if she was saying good-bye or not but she loaded up with a little assistance and hauled home just fine! We were able to get a couple of pictures but were mostly focused on getting her home quickly and safely. Well get some more pictures tomorrow in the daylight.
