MAYDAY! Dog Mauled~ Update as of 4:43pm WE NEED $470 or They dont get their dog back! Alta vista is opened until 10pm! Please we can do this! oh dear. now the dog is ready to go home, and they wont let my son take him until they pay $470. one $20 donation came in today, which brings them up to $80. i dont even know what happens when something like this happens. they want cash picked up today. i wonder if they will have to relinquish their dog?! do you have any ideas? (ORIGINAL STORY) On Jan 26, 2015, hi, patti - my grandchildrens little chihuahua mix, Cash, was attacked this weekend by a pair of rotties. the dogs were being walked by a 10ish year old boy in the apartment complex my sons family lives in. when my daughter in law opened the door to take her dogs out, Cash darted out and started barking at the larger dogs. the little boy, of course, wasnt able to control them. they snatched up Cash and mauled him quite badly. although he wasnt punctured through his skin, he has two broken ribs and is suffering with Flail Chest. the vet at alta vista, where he is staying now, didnt recognize the condition and her diagnosis was simply broken ribs. jennifer stacey asked that i have alta vista send the x-rays to her vet for a second opinion, which is where the flail chest was recognized. thank you, patti. i have it set up with them already. Cash is listed under my name, Diana Udy. there were three donations on saturday when we took him in. two for $25 each from two of my close friends, and one for $10. i am not certain who that one was from. i have been a client of alta vista for thirty years, the upside to them is that they are within walking distance of my house, and you cant beat their hours. the vet bill is climbing. There has only been $60 contributed - $50 from two of my close friends. is it possible for you to push the story out to the rescue group? i am no longer on facebook and my cell phone is broken - my new one should be here by thursday - so it is very difficult for me to network anything for this poor little guy.
