This specific training will cover an overview of the new SBC Global Missions DR Database system and is a necessary precursor to the Level 2 training for those that desire to be deployed as Administrative support for any of the other DR ministry teams. Participants will receive DR credentials that allow access to a disaster event. Register for the training at alsbom-gm.org. See the attached brochure for more information. International Ministries Golf Tournament June 22, 2013 The International Ministries is holding the First Annual Benefit Golf Tournament June 22, with a 1:30 p.m. tee off at Heron Lakes Country Club. This tournament is limited to 60 players, so sign up quickly. This is a best ball tournament with a $50 entry fee per person, or $200 per team. Individuals and businesses are encouraged to "sponsor" a hole at $100. Your name/company will be displayed on the golf course. Cakes, Goodies, and Silent Auction The following items are being collected for the Tournament. Help us collect a prize and a goodie bag for every golfer! Messer Ministries Annual Meeting will be held at First Baptist Church Theodore on June 22, 10:00 a.m. – noon. Dr. Fred Luter is the speaker. The Basic Training Journey for Church Planting July 11-13, 2013 – NO COST There will be a Basic Training Journey for Church Planting July 11-13, 2013 at Forest Hill Baptist Church (3900 Moffett Road, Mobile). The meeting begins with lunch on Thursday and concludes Saturday evening. Basic Training Journey is the nuts and bolts or ABC’s of what it takes to plant a church from the planter and the core group’s perspective. Every planter is encouraged to attend and bring as many of the core group as possible. When the participants walk away they will have in hand the structure on which to hang their vision, values, focus group, strategy, etc. This training is also available to pastors and leaders who would like to apply these principles to their current church. SCHEDULE: Thursday, July 11 – 12:000 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. (lunch, snacks and dinner provided) Friday, July 12 – 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (light breakfast, snacks and lunch provided) Saturday, July 13 – 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (light breakfast, lunch and snacks provided) COST: NO COST REGISTRATION: Register online at alsbom.org/upcoming-events/basic-training-journey Meals will be provided for FREE. Vancouver Vision Tours • Participate in the SEND VANCOUVER meetings during the Southern Baptist Convention, Houston, TX. • Lead a Vancouver Vision Tour on June 26-29, 2013. • 2013 Vancouver Vision Tours – Pray for future tour on September 16-18, 2013 (sign-up deadline - August 27, 2013). Volunteer Group Available July 15-18 Brian Bolding, youth pastor at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in Maryville, TN, and a group of 25 will be in Mobile July 13-19. They are staying at Camp Whispering Pines. The group is scheduled to lead VBS each morning at the Salvation Army in Mobile, but is seeking other opportunities to serve while in the area.
